Local PSB Invitation Letter is Required for Obtaining Z-visa

 

Anyone seeking employment in China must obtain permission from the Public Security Bureau (PSB) in the local town or province where they will be working.  Normally, your sponsor will complete application formalities well in advance of your arrival.  It takes about 25 days to process the invitation letters through the government.

 

Once the application has been approved and received, your employer should include the original invitation letter which is required for you to process your Z-visa. 

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR PBS TO APPROVE INVITATION:

  • Copy of your passport

  • Signed contract illustrating the reason and term of your employment. 

  • Supporting Documents from SAFEA, and/or the Ministry of Labor.

Your employer is responsible for providing these documents to the PBS for processing and this takes place before you apply for your visa.

 

The Public security bureau enforce the Rules for the Implementation of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Control of the Entry and Exit of Aliens as set forth by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.    See Also:  Law of the People's Republic of China on Control of the Entry and Exit of Aliens

 

You will need to register your presence in China no more than 48-hours after arriving at your host destination.
